Bio
Ricardo van Rhijn is a former Dutch international and player for clubs including Ajax, Club Brugge, and AZ Alkmaar. Ricardo van Rhijn began his professional football career in the youth academy of Ajax. At Ajax, Van Rhijn played as a central defender throughout the entire youth academy, the position where he also made his debut in the first team under then-head coach Frank de Boer. With Ajax, he won the national championship three times and lifted the Johan Cruyff Shield, and he participated in more than 30 matches in the Champions League and the Europa League. During his time at Ajax, he also made his debut for the Netherlands national team and wore the shirt of the Dutch national team eight times. In 2016, he made the move to Club Brugge, with whom he played in the Champions League. With two Belgian Super Cups under his belt, Ricardo subsequently played for AZ, SC Heerenveen, FC Emmen, and the German Karlsruher SC.
