Bio

Martijn Barto was the assistant coach of SC Cambuur. The former professional made his decision in the summer of 2018 to stop playing professional football and focus on his coaching career. In 2018, he started his coaching career in the youth team of Cambuur. After training the Under-19s for one year, Martijn became the assistant to the first team. As a footballer, the striker made his debut in the 2005/06 season in professional football wearing the shirt of RKC Waalwijk, in the Eredivisie. After one season at Helmond Sport in the Eerste Divisie, Barto made the move to Harkemase Boys before transferring to SC Cambuur. Barto became champion in the Jupiler League with the club on May 3, 2013, thus returning to the Eredivisie eight years later. He had some good seasons at the club from Leeuwarden, highlighted by the cup adventure, where the semifinals were reached, and Ajax and FC Utrecht were personally eliminated by the striker. After various offers from both home and abroad, the striker chose stability for his family and focuses on his coaching career.
