Danny Schenkel is the head coach of Jong Almere City FC, after making the switch from Spata Under-18 in the summer of 2023. Danny began his professional coaching career with Ajax Women. He was the coach of the Amsterdam top club for three years and won several awards. In 2023, he returned to his former club Sparta to become the head coach of the Under-18.

Danny Schenkel had long been active in professional football. The central defender played 321 matches in professional football and represented clubs including Telstar, Sparta, and Willem II (all in the Netherlands), as well as AEK Larnaca (Cyprus).
